Yes, you can wash your hair. Splashing your brows isn’t a problem as long as you pat them dry with a clean dry flannel as soon as possible. A handheld shower head is a good way of protecting your brows especially if you’re able to tip your head back whilst washing your hair.

You can exercise after treatment if you do not sweat too much from your head. You should avoid Saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs until healed.

You have to be at least 5 weeks prior to undergoing chemotherapy and at least 5 weeks post chemotherapy. If you wish me to treat you within the stipulated 5 week period, then written consent from your oncologist will be required.

I have a health condition. Can I have this treatment done?

Please speak to me about your health condition and I can let you know whether you can be treated.

I’m under 18 years old. Can I have the treatment?

In some circumstances, this can be done, as long as there is consent from a parent or guardian, plus written permission from your doctor and that my insurance company is happy for us to proceed.

I’m in my 70’s. Can I have this done?

As long as you’re healthy and depending on your skin texture, you can have these treatment at any age. However, I strongly advise a face to face consultation if you’re over the age of 70, as there is the chance that I may have to refuse treatment on the day if I consider, for whatever reason, that it’s not in your best interests to have the following treatments performed.

Microblading Questions and Answers

How much does Microblading cost?

It costs £350, which includes your treatment session and a review session (to be used within 3 months of your initial treatment session), where any adjustments are made, if needed. I don’t take cards, so unless you’re paying by cash on the day, please arrange a bank transfer, which must reach me before your treatment can go ahead. BACS details are at the bottom of the page (Prices correct are time of printing).

How long does the procedure take?

The first session takes 1.5 to 2 hours and the second session usually takes about 1 hour.

I’ve heard that oily skin is a contraindication for Microblading?

If you have very oily skin, large pores, Rosacea, or dilated capillaries (a strong redness to areas of your skin, which is formed of small, possibly broken blood vessels), then there is a strong possibility that the hair strokes will not retain their definition once healed and the effect will be more of a powder brow look and in some cases the pigment will heal to a very cool tone.

I have very dark hair and have heard that over time the pigment can heal grey?

If you require a very dark pigment implanting, then there is a small chance of the pigment healing very cool and in some cases, once faded, there can be a greyish hue to the brows. This is rare, but the possibility is something to be aware of. Also, with very dark shades, or if you want the strokes to be very closely packed, there is a stronger chance of the strokes blurring and over time, this will lead to more of a “powder brow” effect.

How long does it last?

The result usually lasts between 8-18 months, depending on skin type and depth of colour, but the result can last longer (see answer to next question for more information on this). A Top-Up is advised at regular intervals to freshen up your brows.

If I decide to stop having Microblading treatment, over time will the tattoo completely disappear?

You may always have a trace of the tattoo if you stop having treatments. With darker pigments it can take several years to lose the colour and in some cases the client may never completely lose the tattoo. This is normally associated with a very dark shade being used, so something to be aware of before you decide to go ahead with treatment.

Will my brows be red and swollen after treatment?

You should have no redness or swelling when you leave me. All my photos are directly after the procedure, so you can go straight out feeling great!

Can I have my brows tinted before treatment?

You should have your brows tinted either 1 week before treatment, or 2 weeks after treatment.

I have old brow tattooing. Can I have Microblading over the top?

As long as the old tattooing is significantly faded down enough, yes you can. If in doubt, send me a photo and I should be able to tell from that. You must be aware however, that I cannot completely conceal old tattooing, so you will be able to see the residual tone of the faded tattoo underneath my work.

Is it painful?

I use the best numbing creams and techniques so discomfort should be very minimal.

Will it be very dark until healed?

Microblading is a lovely, natural looking treatment and you should be able to leave my clinic without any redness or swelling. Expect the brows to be 30-40% darker until healed.

Can I do exercise immediately after the treatment?

Exercise is fine following treatment, however, no swimming, saunas, steam rooms etc, until your brows have healed.

I have very sparse eyebrow hair, will Microblading work for me?

It doesn’t matter if you have no brow hair, very sparse hair, or quite a lot of hair, Microblading is good for all brow conditions.

Is it painful?

I put on a good numbing cream before your treatment, so you shouldn’t feel much discomfort at all. It’s a strange sensation, as you will feel the vibration of the needle on your eyelid and I have to put some pressure on the skin around your eye. It’s a very quick procedure, as long as you stay nicely still and trust me.
