Which Eyeliner Style is right for me?

Lets talk Eyeliner Tattooing!

Eyeliner Tattooing is a wonderful, confidence giving treatment, but how do you know which style you want that also works with your skin type, eye shape and lifestyle? Here is where i hope to be able to help…

Below are the different Eyeliner tattoo styles available in the world of Permanent makeup, they may be called different things but at the end of the day they are the same treatments!

1- Lash line- the most natural enhancement only within the lashes that is suitable for all skin types. This is perfect for those who want a barely there makeup enhancement, OR perhaps you have very fair eyelashes and just want them to appear darker, then this isthe treatment for you!

(If you are older and have quite thin skin, this is realistically the only method you can have that is going to be safe for you. As we age our skin gets thinner, we may have more prominent blood vessels in the eyelid that can be at risk of pigment migration if too much work is done to the area, so YES you can have this amazing enhancement, just be sensible with your choice and listen to your artist!)

2- Baby Latino- This beautiful technique is my favourite (second to Lash line) and it includes the lash line tattooing BUT with a small tail, wing or wedge at the outer corner of the eye for a slightly more ‘makeup look’- This look can enhance the eye shape, giving you a nice subtle cat eye look and is suitable for most skin types, SOME mature clients can have this technique but this is very much dependent on each individuals skin- if the skin is not too thin and there arent too many blood vessels or redness apparent in the area- you could have a Baby latino.

3- Full Latino- OK now this is for the girls who want that makeup look 100% of the time! this is the fullest eyeliner look which gives you an every day makeup style and is thicker all the way along including a wing/tail. This is only suitable for a certain skin type, skin age, eye shape and for those that are liquid eyeliner wearers every day. Remember, eyeliner lasts a LONG time in the skin- This technique here is not something that you can change your mind on once its done!

4- Russian shaded- Quite possibly the trickiest of eyeliner methods and is, in my opinion, the most limited style when it comes to chosing the ideal client for it. Russian shading is lash line tattooing with a very thin tail flick and little pixels of pigment dusted to create a more eye shadow look through to the tip of the tail. This is suitable for most as long as the skin isn’t too thin/mature.

My best advice for choosing your eyeliner style is firstly to ask the artists opinion as we (hopefully) do know what we’re talking about, think about what you would want to see every day (because eyeliner lasts a very long time and as I always say, it’s easier to add than to take away!!!) and that if you’re unsure, always start with less! We can add more later on down the line if that’s what you want!

I hope this has helped!
